The Getinge Group
The Getinge Group is developing rapidly both in terms of sales volumes and customer offerings. Today, Getinge has around 12 000 employees, proprietary sales companies in 33 countries, and 33 production facilities in 14 countries. In 2009, net sales amounted to SEK 22.8 billion and pre-tax profit to SEK 2.6 billion. Since the listing on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 1993, the Group has had an annual average growth of sales and pre-tax profit of 22% and 21% respectively.
The Group is organised in three business areas: Medical Systems, Extended Care, and Infection Control.
The market
With 46 % of the sales, Europe is the Group’s largest market, followed by North America representing 32%. Emerging markets and rest of the world make up 22% of the sales.
In recent years, the Group has made significant investments to increase its presence in major emerging markets, such as Brazil, India, China and Russia to capture a growing market opportunity. Similar investments have also been made in North America and Japan, where the Group continues to take market share and the potential for growth is substantial.
