Current events in the business area

In 2011, Medical Systems is focusing on the following:

  • Development of the new product market being established in conjunction with the launch of Cardiohelp and FLOW-i
  • Cardiac surgery expansion in the US and other markets
  • Continued internationalisation of the market organisation
  • Continued focus on innovation and product development.

The acquisition of the Cardiac and Vascular Surgery divisions from the US company Boston Scientific in 2008 and the acquisition of Datascope Corp – as the leading company in the Cardiac Assist area – combined with Medical Systems’ perfusion operations, has established a strong player in the cardiovascular market with an expansive and attractive product range. The business area has also created a strong platform for its continued expansion and advancement in this area.
