Getinge acquires US Disinfection Business
Getinge Industrier acquired MTP
Corporation in Niagara Falls, N.Y. USA as per 31 December 1998
The company develops, manufactures
and markets washer disinfectors for the Life Science market in
the US and Canada valued to appr. 20 million USD. MTP’s
sales turnover is appr. 3.5 million USD and the company employs
30 persons.
The acquisition will result in
substantial synergies
MTP will generate substantial synergy within Getinge’s
existing manufacturing structure in the US. The MTP product range
will be marketed by Getinge’s nationwide sales organization
in the US.
Positive effect on results
The acquisition will contribute to Getinge’s results before
tax in the current year.
Getinge Industrier
is a medical-technical Group, and a world leader in the fields of
sterilization, disinfection, patient handling and hygiene
systems. The Group has 3,500 employees and had a sales turnover
of SEK 4.6 billion in 1997.
